    AFG — the Assistance to Firefighters Grant — asks applicants to describe their calls and their operations, and Wyoming departments running a station on each end of a long response area are exactly who that program is built for. Whether NERIS reporting counts toward scoring or eligibility isn't something we know or will guess at; that's a question for the notice of funding opportunity, not for us. What we can say plainly is that a report already on file is quicker to point an application at than a season of calls nobody wrote up yet.
